DEİK Logistics Business Council and Chinese Delegation Visited the Edirne Transit Facilitation Center

A delegation consisting of Fatih Şener, Chairman of the DEİK Logistics Business Council, the Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul and Chinese Commercial Counsellors visited our Edirne Transit Facilitation Center to receive information about our operational processes.

During the visit, evaluations were made regarding the contributions of the Transit Facilitation Center model to transit transportation, operational processes and practices aimed at facilitating international trade.

Speaking during the visit, Fatih Şener, Chairman of the DEİK Logistics Business Council, emphasized the strategic importance of initiatives that accelerate transit operations within the framework of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Türkiye’s Middle Corridor vision, stating:

“Facilities such as Transit Facilitation Centers, which simplify transit procedures, are of great importance for both China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Türkiye’s Middle Corridor route. These centers play a critical role in strengthening China’s connectivity with Europe.”

The Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul stated that he was impressed by the operational practices implemented at the Transit Facilitation Center and commented:

“Facilities that facilitate transit procedures are of great importance in accelerating international trade and strengthening logistics connectivity between countries.”

The visit concluded with an exchange of views and discussions on the contribution of the Transit Facilitation Center model to international trade corridors.
